Emily Blunt on "Into the Woods"

Emily Blunt was recently interviewed by Scott Fienberg for her upcoming film Edge of Tomorrow, and during it she made a few comments about what to expect from Into the Woods:

Excited to see the cinematography!  And I'm sure she's being modest about her singing. Regardless, she makes a good point about Sondheim, in that this musical in particular lends itself to showcasing the "singing actor," rather than the "acting singer."  Now give us a trailer, Disney!

  1. So Jeff, cast your lots. Will Emily Blunt retain lead status or will Meryl steal the show a la Devil in Prada?

    1. I'd be foolish to assume at this point in her career and with the historical precedents of One True Thing, Devil Wears Prada, Julie & Julia and A:OC that that in a borderline lead role she'd be pushed supporting. It's certainly a possibility, but I'm predicting her in Lead.

    2. I will join you in that. Meryl, if you've been following us in silence on this wonderful blog during a down-period, we love you!

    4. Ha! Yeah a friend of mine and I were chatting that maybe it would be a good idea to add a profile pic on the VERY slim chance that Meryl or anyone she knows ever saw this blog they would see I didn't look like a crazy person. ;)

  2. Yes absolutely, I don't think it's a slim chance though, I'm sure there have been people on here if not even Meryl herself!
