...a candid blog devoted to the incomparable American actress Meryl Streep.
Hope they work flat out to get it perfect! Jeff do you know anything about how companies decide if their movie should enter a film festival? Very few of Meryl's have in recent years. I'd love this to be like The Hours and go to Berlin..Meryl looks a bit like her Kate Mundy character in the close up, mixed a little with Rachael from Heartburn. She really hasn't ages much in these years!
I do not know a lot about what factors drive the decision to enter a film into a festival. Of course sometimes they just want them seen to get buzz about the film going, or perhaps to find funding for wide release from a studio. As far as which festivals, I imagine that often has to do with when the festival is, and if that lines up with when the picture would be ready. With The Papers, it's a big studio film that already has a prominent director and is not even going to finish filming until August, which is just before major festivals begin (Toronto in Sep for example).
what is with those shoes! Those heels were not 1971. Is she wearing them to give her height? Was Kay G a tall woman?
