Ben Platt joins "Ricki and the Flash"

Pitch Perfect alumnus Ben Platt has joined that cast of Meryl's upcoming film Ricki and the Flash.  Deadline is reporting that Platt will portray barkeep Daniel, who evidently worships Streep's character. This info comes off of the recent news of Rick Springfield's official casting earlier this week.  Filming is set to begin early October.  Keep practicing that guitar, Mer.

    He's cute. Very excited to see how Meryl will look in this one too. I read today that she works in a supermarket by day to pay her bills.

      I'm very excited to see how this plays out. Meryl playing acoustic guitar?! If she can mange the violin I imagine she can do this. Although she'll have to be able to play solo, which she really didn't have to do well in Music of the Heart.
