I'm not sure if I like the poster yet, but I've learned not to put too much thought into whether or not this will hurt or help the film. Can we get a U.S. release date already?!
I like it very much. It's fresh and funny, like a spring movie should be.
ReplyDeleteAnd the awards... are the the least important thing...
I'm hoping this movie will be a box office hit....can't see how it can lose out to Ricki. Meryl is deliciously perfect for this role IMO.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to the premiere in London. Looking forward to it very much.

A thought, Jeff... While we wait for FFJ and any possible awards traction it might have in 2016, it seems we need something else to occupy our time. I'm suggesting you choose a Streep movie and recommend everyone watch or re-watch it and then get a discussion going. I was fortunate enough to find "Dark Matter" the other day, a movie I've never seen. This was what gave me the idea. I wonder how many others have ever seen it, or some of the other lesser-known movies. It could give us something to do while we await the reaction to FFJ. Rob in Alberta, Canada.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'm the odd one here....but I simply wish Meryl would return to performing in plays (instead of movies). I trust it'll be career-energizing for her as well. She's already a legend in terns of screen acting but I feel she has not shown her fullest potential in plays having stopped full-fledged live performing since Kramer vs Kramer with the exception of Mother Courage and Seagull. I just don't understand why she's no longer interested in plays (sorry I don't consider recitals for benefit causes in the same category).
