Clive Owen joins Meryl on Berlin Film Festival jury
Among other sources, Variety is reporting that actor Clive Owen will be joining Meryl on the jury panel at the Berlin International Film Festival later this month. Several other people have joined the panel as well, but I truly don't believe I've heard of any of them, with perhaps an exception being Brigitte Lacombe. It's not like I'm crazy thrilled about Owen joining her, but any attention surrounding a possible Meryl sighting is worth noting.

Hi Jeff, just commenting here because of the current flack Meryl is getting regarding her comments at Berlinale ("We're all African"). Thoughts on this/the media coverage of it?
ReplyDeleteI think what people are missing is that she was referencing the speech JFK did IN Berlin where he famously proclaimed "Ich bin ein Berliner." Getting a bit frustrated at the amount of incorrect media coverage taking her quote out of context/misplacing its context completely. I think people have missed the positive message associated with Kennedy's speech that she was drawing from (one of support, alliance, etc).
Oh her poor publicist at the moment... anyway. Just wanted to know if you had any thoughts on it.
