Streep to be in attendance for world premiere of "Suffragette" in Telluride

The Guardian is reporting that Suffragette will premiere at the Telluride Film Festival tomorrow, September 4.  In addition, Meryl will be on hand to introduce the film with director Sarah Gavron and screenwriter Abi Morgan.  When I saw the article this morning I thought maybe I totally spaced on this debuting in Telluride, but I think this is actually news, as the Festival schedule was just released today.

Very excited to hear some reactions to the film!  Stay tuned.

  1. Have you heard of the film Marguerite? Its also screening at Telluride and is essentially the Florence Foster Jenkins film. It's done well at the Venice Film Festival and has been acquired for US distribution with a planned release in Spring 2016. That's just a few months away from Meryl's FFJ biopic. Hell, I hope this doesn't soften the blow of Meryl's version, perhaps the fact that it's in French will put enough people off but with that said, with Marion Cotillard's OScar nomination last year, French films are certainly appealing to more and more non-francophones.

    1. I have heard of it. I just doubt enough people will see it for it to be a distraction or major comparison to Meryl's film. I'm looking forward to seeing it, though. Jenkins is a great character.
