New pic of Meryl in "Ricki and the Flash"

People Magazine has revealed a new photo of Meryl starring in the upcoming film Ricki and the Flash.

She looks great, not surprisingly.  I'm very much looking forward to seeing how effectively Meryl convinces us of her guitar skills.  I've not doubt she'll continue to surprise.  The film, written and directed by Academy Award-winners Diablo Cody and Jonathan Demme, respectively, is set for an August 6 release.

    1. I doubt it. I hope it does well at the box office, but it may be a bit too "light" for serious contention for a win. I picture it going comedy/musical at the Globes.

    2. I'm sure it will go Musical/Comedy at the Globes as it is billed a a dramedy. It really depends whether it leans towards comedy or drama. Hope Springs for instance was amusing but had more of a serious tone. This could be the same with a mother trying to get her family back etc etc.

I do feel Meryl has a great shot at her 9th win at the Globes though

    3. Definitely think she could stand a chance at Globe win. Still want Florence released this year in drama AND Master Class so she's ultimately nominated in three categories at the Globes!

    4. Aw Jeff, I hope it happens for you to enjoy. I fear Florence will shoot too late for a 2015 release and if Meryl truly takes a break for a while the studio will likely want to secure Flo into her summer spot next year.

    5. No, you're absolutely right. What I anticipate is this: Master Class never gets made. Florence finishes up filming in summer 2015 and is released either summer or late fall 2016. The Good House may actually happen. Even just today this was released:

If she films The Good House this fall, that will have a 2016 release as well, maybe fall, especially if Florence is released in summer. Then she'll take all of 2016 off from filming and come back with something awesome to film in 2017.
