Twelve years of Word on the Streep!

Today marks twelve years that I made my first post on this blog! As always, I'd like to extend my gratitude to any and all readers/participants. It continues to be a fun and rewarding undertaking. Over the past year I completed the supporting recasting project. While it was enjoyable and I'm really glad I did it, it was a lot of work and I'm glad to be done with it. I'm also glad that we're in the middle of a current Meryl project, with Only Murders in the Building. She and the season are getting rave reviews, and I can't wait to see what else she has in store for us in the coming episodes. It's great that she's likely endearing herself to a new generation of fans. Hopefully that turns into new and exciting/high-quality offers for future roles!

Here's to another year!

  2. Thank you so much for this blog. Have you read the NY Times' article on why Meryl did this role? She had this angst about climate change and wanted to do something light and comical. I'm no fan of OMITB so I'll wait for her next role (surprise me Meryl!). Look forward to more of your beautiful writing!

  4. Congratulations, Jeff!

12 years and still going, and getting better.

All this time, Word on the Streep has remained incisive, balanced, imaginative, relevant, and so much fun. You make us all proud and happy to be movie fans and Meryl fanatics.

    Thank you!

  5. As always Jeff, thank you! This is the best Meryl fan space there is and I really appreciate all the effort you put into it as well as having a place to hear other people's views.

  6. Oops, I may need to revise that to: “You make us all proud and happy to be movie/TV fans and Meryl fans/fanatics/devotees/die-hards.” And now it’s beginning to sound like a cult (haha). Call it a club or a community of people who stay curious and open to seeing Meryl and her work in different ways (with you recasting, reimagining, revisiting, and ultimately restoring our faith in the power and grace of acting as storytelling). You and your blog and your readers/participants (my fellow fans) have done it, Jeff. As CJames said, you’ve given us space—“the best Meryl fan space there is”—a place to be heard. A place to keep appreciating Meryl’s gifts and the countless ways her work and her life have kept us amazed, challenged, and inspired. Again, thank you, Jeff. And thank you, Meryl.

  7. Congrats and happy birthday Jeff. Thanks for all the wonderful reading. After 12 years I am sure you have enough content to publish a book of Word on the Streep. I’d buy it! Mike Burge
