New U.S. trailer for "Florence Foster Jenkins"

Paramount has released a full-length trailer for Florence Foster Jenkins:

I prefer this trailer to the U.K. version.  Here we finally get a small taste of Florence's poor singing.  They also briefly touch on her illness and its effect on both Florence and her partner, St. Clair Bayfield, providing a nice juxtaposition to the film's mostly lighthearted mood.   The movie itself looks like great fun, and both the acting and cinematography appear terrific.  We could be in store for a very fine film with impressive box-office returns.

  3. The movie won't be complete without touching the illness part, plus the singing's horribly funny. Opera geeks like me would love this film.

  5. I prefer this trailer also, it's more compelling and gives a better overview of the film's premise. London is flooded with promo posters ahead of next week which are superbly airbrushed - Meryl and H.Grant look 20 years younger! The also stuck Simon Helburg in on the corner to attract some Big Bang fans! haha, Hoping for a hit - Only 8 days to go :-)

    1. Every bus in Dublin also features the very fresh faces of Meryl and Hugh. With all this promotion and good word of mouth, FFJ could be a major hit.

    2. So jealous you get to see it next week! But shouldn't complain...you always have to wait longer than we do here in the States.

  6. I saw an advanced screening here in Melbourne today. It was a fantastic film! Meryl's performance is ace - her Florence is touching, hilarious, and warm. I can't believe she did her own singing in this! Production is solid - beautiful cinematography, set design, great ensemble.
