"Ricki and the Flash" released to home video

Ricki and the Flash is now available for purchase on DVD, Blu-ray and HD download.  Of course I purchased it on ITunes and last night I watched the special features, which is the best part of movies released to video.  There's a brief 'making of' feature with commentary from Meryl and director Jonathan Demme.  It was also fun to see Audra McDonald applaud Meryl's performance saying "of course she's believable as a rock star.  She's believable in every role she's in!"

I won't spoil the rest so you'll have to get a copy yourself.  Enjoy!

      Meryl's great in it, but the film just isn't good enough. I'll be happy if she even secures a golden globe nod.

    Ricki was a huge disappointment for me. I expected better in terms of script and direction and though Meryl was good in it, her performance paled in comparison to that of other Oscar contenders this year like Saoirse Ronan (Brooklyn was such a compelling film to watch), Brie Larson (have you guys watched Room? She was surprisingly great in it) and Cate Blanchett (I'm torn between Carol and Truth - both were phenomenal works of art). But I'm keeping my fingers crossed Florence would put her in good stead - I have faith in Stephen Frears.

    I don't know if this will win the fourth but I hope it is as good as the talent involved. I like the idea of Meryl being passed over a few times and people being outraged.. Haha
