As the season's filming gets underway, Kumail Nanjiani is the latest addition to the cast of Only Murders in the Building. Like other casting announcements, little to nothing is being revealed in regard to specific character details.
Nanjiani was recently seen on Hulu in the limited series Welcome to Chippendales, for which he received an Emmy nomination.
With so many new additions, it doesn't feel like Meryl will have much of a role to play. Hopefully it's freeing up time to act in other bigger projects.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I'm not sure what it means for her being available for other projects, I also wondered if Meryl's role will be somewhat truncated in this season.
DeleteDon't hold your breath - I sense that she's having fun and her role in S4 may be equivalent in scope to that in S3. At best, she may announce the new projects if any much later that we desire.

ReplyDeleteMeryl filmed S3 last year, started filming in January and wrapped in April. That's quite a long time.Maybe less than that this time.
DeleteI thought they shot roughly one episode per week. Perhaps I'm wrong. In the old days they would have shot all of a big star's scenes in one go to free them up.

If Meryl has another project coming up next, the crew should do so, and if the next project isn't known where it is yet, I think Meryl might like to work leisurely
