I found the trailer to be entertaining and a good representation of what me can likely expect the tone of the film to be. Some humorous parts as well, although nothing I found myself laughing out loud at. Jonah Hill's character is going to bug the hell out of me.
Meryl doesn't actually feature too much in it, and she receives the "...and Meryl Streep" notice at the end of the trailer and new poster (which is pretty good I'd have to say):
This looks deliciously fun! I'm just hoping Meryl has more scenes apart from the rallies and the White House setting. Not sure about Oscar chances though...maybe it's just too lightweight? I can't tell from the trailer. It's also criminal not to have two of the best actresses (Meryl and Cate) share a scene in the movie - sadly I don't think they will. Looking forward to this!
ReplyDeleteYou never know, if Cate is playing a Conservative newsperson she might get a chance to interview the President!
DeleteI think they did have a scene or two together in the script I read. Although I don't think it was much interaction, more that they happened to be in the same room together soft of thing. But don't quote me on that ha.
DeleteAccording to one Streep-Blanchett fan viewer at the screening - no scene together unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteThe one tweet I read that addressed this indicated that they have a scene together, just no interaction.
DeleteIs Meryl's character very directly related to the title Don't Look Up? Anyone saw it?
