Multiple sources are reporting that filming got underway for season 3 of HBO's Big Little Lies. Well, sort of.
While no official return to filming dates has been confirmed by HBO, filming took place on Thursday for a single day in order for the show to maintain its California state tax credit. Merrin Dungey, who plays detective Adrienne Qunilan, was the only person apparently spotted on set. No details were given about what the scene may have involved.
This news alone isn't all that exciting, other than the fact that it lends support to the expectation for a season 3 to actually happen. I can't imagine they'd be bothering with all this if they didn't have a very reasonable likelihood of planning to film sometime in the next year.
I always like hearing about Meryl's upcoming projects (as mundane or repetitive as they've often seemed of late). She was previously included in the list of cast members expected to return for season 3. Stay tuned.
