Meryl Streep and Martin Short were photographed at a restaurant in London very recently. Not much more to say than what the headline suggests. We know that the two are (likely) a couple, and that the sixth and upcoming season of Hulu's Only Murders in the Building is set to take place at least partly in London this year. Thus, it makes sense that they're in London for the time being to shoot!
No official word that I've seen, but it makes sense that they'd film for a couple months with the season coming out later this year. That would a bit of a quicker turnaround than in recent seasons, as they've usually filmed earlier in the year with the season being released fourth quarter. Maybe they'll push this season's release to early 2027. I honestly could barely care less. The best of the show seems like it's behind us, and I would love to see Meryl in new projects.
Same here. I could care less. There are tons of complex engaging female characters as seen in Cannes festival and I'm kind of blah that Meryl persists in something like this. Whatever.

DeleteI feel that still in in summer, we will hear more concrete news on her involvment in new projects. The Corrections project is set to be shot still in 2026, and there are other movies bubbling like the Useful Idiots or that eargerly expected Joni Mitchell biopic. Fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteThe useful idiots was supposed to start filming in March but it looks like here's another project in limbo as Sigourney Weaver is currently tied to two other projects, one filming, the other starting in August. Having said that, Meryl has every right to be in love, take a vacation or align her projects with Martin's schedule. We fans have also every right to wish for better projects for her - OMITB is yuks to me., I didn't even find the last two seasons worth watching. Much as I love Meryl, I'm also glad I'm a fan of other actresses like Emma Stone ( she's unbelievable!), Cate Blanchett and Sandra Huller whose upcoming films are something I can't wait to see. As for Prada 2, I'm only happy because I have not seen her in a long time on the big screen. Other than that, it's merely enjoyable, not some performance I will remember in 20 years' time.
